Set of 4 Cappuccino Cups - the Judy Chicago illy Art Collection
For this illy Art Collection, Judy Chicago has adorned the elegant forms of the iconic cup with the sensual strokes that distinguished her work in the Great Ladies series, dedicated to women who played a fundamental role in the history of art, literature and politics.
Each cup, through its creativity, represents a notable woman from history from distinct time periods: the Queen of France, Maria Antonietta; the novelist, philosopher, and political writer Madame de Stael; feminist novelist, George Sand; and writer, Virginia Woolf.

Independent, eccentric and indefatigable
Expressing herself through painting, sculpture and installations in addition to ceramics and fabric, Judy Chicago tackles themes that begin with the female body and broaden into such issues of growing relevance as the climate emergency, as well as the rights of Native American peoples and the horrors of the Holocaust. As well as pursuing her purely artistic activities, she has played the roles of educator, writer, historian and activist.
